Suspicious Death of Health Worker Sparks Controversy, Family Alleges Murder

Date:

Agartala, 30th June 2026:  The death of a health worker from Brajendranagar Primary Health Centre in Dharmanagar subdivision has triggered widespread concern. The deceased, Hasan Ali (45), was a resident of South Kadamtala.

According to family members and local sources, Hasan Ali was returning home on his motorcycle after completing his duty on Tuesday when he met with an accident approximately 100 to 150 metres from the health centre. Local residents rushed him to Brajendranagar Primary Health Centre, from where he was referred to Dharmanagar District Hospital due to his deteriorating condition.

At the district hospital, attending physician Dr. Raja Nag declared him dead. Preliminary medical observations suggest that he died from injuries sustained in a road accident.

However, the deceased’s maternal uncle, Shamsul Uddin, has alleged that the incident was not a simple road accident but a planned murder. He claimed that the body did not bear the typical injuries associated with a traffic accident and demanded an impartial investigation.

Police have launched an investigation and stated that all possible angles are being examined. Officials said the post-mortem report and investigation findings will determine the actual cause of death. The news of Hasan Ali’s death drew large numbers of relatives and family members to the district hospital.
