Agartala, 31st July 2026 : Ramchandraghat MLA Ranjit Debbarma has appealed to Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha to establish a Revenue Circle Office at Padmabil under Khowai Sub-Division, citing long-standing hardships faced by residents of the constituency due to the absence of such a facility.
In a letter dated July 30, 2026, addressed to the Chief Minister, the MLA stated that people of the 24-Ramchandraghat Assembly Constituency are compelled to travel to the Khowai Revenue Circle Office for official land and revenue-related work. He said the situation has become particularly difficult for local residents, many of whom belong to economically weaker sections and struggle to bear the cost and inconvenience of frequent travel.
Debbarma noted that the lack of a Revenue Circle Office at Padmabil has been causing considerable hardship not only to residents of Ramchandraghat but also to people living in adjoining areas. According to him, the existing Revenue Circle Office at Khowai Town is located far from the constituency, making access to essential public services difficult for many villagers.
Highlighting the feasibility of the proposal, the MLA informed the Chief Minister that sufficient government land is available at Padmabil for setting up a new Revenue Circle Office. He also pointed out that the area has suitable road connectivity, making it an appropriate location for the proposed office.
Seeking early intervention, Debbarma requested the Chief Minister to issue necessary directions to the concerned authorities for the establishment of the Revenue Circle Office at Padmabil at the earliest. He expressed hope that the move would remove existing administrative hurdles and provide easier access to revenue services for the people of Ramchandraghat Assembly Constituency and nearby areas.
The proposal, if approved, is expected to improve the delivery of land and revenue-related services while reducing travel time and expenses for residents in the region.
