Acute teacher shortage hampers education at Tel Kajla Primary School

Date:

Agartala, 12th August 2026: Tel Kajla Primary School in Melaghar is grappling with a severe teacher shortage, leaving nearly 90 students under the guidance of only two teachers. The crisis has disrupted normal academic activities and raised serious concerns among parents and local residents.

Once regarded as a key educational institution in the area, the school previously enjoyed a vibrant learning environment with adequate teaching staff and regular classes. However, the current situation has drastically changed. With just two teachers managing multiple classes simultaneously, it has become increasingly difficult to provide individual attention to students or maintain consistent lessons.

The mounting workload on teachers is directly affecting the quality of education, while students struggle to keep pace with their studies. Parents have expressed both frustration and anxiety, warning that the future of their children is at risk if immediate steps are not taken.

Local residents and guardians have demanded urgent intervention from the education department, calling for the appointment of sufficient teachers to restore normalcy. They argue that without swift action, the academic prospects of nearly 90 children will remain uncertain.

The pressing question now is: when will the authorities address this shortage and ensure that Tel Kajla Primary School regains its rightful place as a center of learning?
