Protem Speaker Binay Bhushan Das takes oath at Raj Bhavan

Agartala, March 13: According to previous announcements, MLA of Panisagar assembly constituency Binoy Bhushan Das takes oath of office and secrecy as the Protem Speaker of the Tripura Legislative Assembly on Wednesday.

Governor Satyadeo Narain Arya administered the oath to MLA Binoy Bhushan Das as the Protem Speaker at Raj Bhavan here.

It is to be noted that after the announcement of the results of the Assembly elections on March 02 last, the members of the Council of Ministers have already taken the responsibility of their respective offices after taking the oath.

This time MLA Binoy Bhushan Das took oath as Protem Speaker of the Legislative Assembly following the rules. Governor Satyadeo Narayan Arya administered the oath to Binay Bhushan Das at Raj Bhavan on Wednesday.

The ceremony started with the recitation of the oath by playing the national anthem. Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath and other members of the Council of Ministers were present. State Chief Secretary JK Sinha along with other administrative officials were also present.

Panisagar MLA Binoy Bhushan Das assumed the duties of the Protem Speaker of the Legislative Assembly by taking oath on this day. At the end of the ceremony, Chief Minister Dr Saha felicitated new Protem Speaker by handing over a traditional ‘Risha’.

It is worthy to mention here that the BJP, CPIM and Congress MLAs will take oath in the Legislative Assembly premises on Thursday while the 13 MLAs of TIPRA Motha will take oath in the Protem Speaker’s room on Friday. Protem Speaker Vinay Bhushan Das will read the oath to them.
