Complaint filed against Madrasa teacher over alleged assault of minor

Date:

Agartala, 14th September 2026 : An allegation of physical assault on a minor student at Phulbarikandi Hafizia Madrasa in Ward No. 6 of Barkhala village under Phulbarikandi Panchayat has sparked concern in Kailashahar. The student’s father, Manaf Ali, has lodged a written complaint at Kailashahar Police Station against the madrasa’s junior teacher, locally known as ‘Chhoto Huzur’.

According to the complaint, the minor, who has been studying at the madrasa for a long time, was allegedly beaten severely last Saturday after failing to answer a question during a lesson. The family claimed that the child suffered visible injury marks on his hands and legs.

The student reportedly informed his family about the incident, following which his father visited the madrasa and questioned the teacher about the alleged assault. Manaf Ali alleged that the teacher behaved rudely with him as well. He further claimed that the madrasa authorities had assured the family that the matter would be discussed and resolved, but no such meeting took place.

The father subsequently approached the police and filed a formal complaint on Sunday evening. Speaking to the media, he alleged that his son had been subjected to beatings on earlier occasions as well. While acknowledging that teachers may discipline students for failing to study, he said excessive physical punishment of a minor is unacceptable and demanded an impartial investigation and legal action if the allegations are established.

The allegations have raised concerns over the safety and treatment of children in educational institutions. However, the statement of the accused teacher or madrasa authorities could not be obtained at the time of filing this report. The exact circumstances of the incident and the veracity of the allegations will be established through the police investigation.
