Agartala, 7th October 2026 : Residents of Ward No. 11 under Ambassa Municipal Council have finally received relief from a long-pending road problem, with the previously muddy and waterlogged stretch now transformed into a paved road.
According to local residents, the road had remained in poor condition for nearly 25 to 30 years. Even light rainfall would leave the stretch submerged in mud and make movement difficult. The situation became particularly challenging during emergencies, as ambulances and other four-wheelers often struggled to reach the locality.
After taking charge as Ward No. 11 Councillor, Uttam Adhikari reportedly prioritised the issue and took steps to convert the long-neglected earthen track into a paved road. The development has brought considerable relief to residents, including elderly people and children, who had faced difficulties using the road for years.
Local residents expressed gratitude to the councillor for addressing the long-standing problem and said the improved road would make daily commuting considerably easier.
Meanwhile, residents have raised another request concerning water supply. They said the locality currently receives water in the morning and urged the authorities to arrange an additional supply during the afternoon. According to them, an afternoon supply would greatly help households manage their daily activities.
Residents expressed hope that the water supply issue would also be addressed soon, following the resolution of the road problem.
