Heart-wrenching road accident at Bishramganj; One dead, three injured

Agartala, May 12, 2023: In a heart-wrenching incident, a motorcycle rider died on spot after being hit by two vehicles while three sustained grievous injuries at Pushkar Bari area in front of the new petrol pump under Bishramganj police station.

It is learned that on this day a motorcycle rider went to overtake a passenger bus and the problem erupted from there. The motorcycle came in front of the bus and at that time, a Maruti Ecco proceeding from the opposite direction could not keep control and hit the front of the bus.

In the incident, 4 people including the bike rider and Ecco car driver were injured. Local people informed the fire brigade. Fire Service personnel rushed to the spot and shifted the injured persons to the hospital. The doctor on duty declared the motorcycle rider brought dead while the mangled bike and car were taken to the police station.

The name of the deceased motorcycle rider is Jiten Kalai (21), resident of Vaishyamani Khamarbari area, Ampi while the injured persons are- Ankita Datta, Vikas Datta and Ruby Datta of Battali area. The injured were referred to GB Hospital from Bishramganj sub-divisional hospital.

Meanwhile, the Bishramganj police station recovered the cars along with the bikes involved in the accident and took them to the police station and started investigation in this regard.
