Agartala, May 22, 2023: The angry locals joined the Agartala-Khowai national highway blockade to protest against the unethical removal of the JCB by the Forest department contractor.

It is reported that a road was being constructed from Paglabari to Parakhaland in Khowai’s Padmabil area. A contractor under the PWD Department is assigned for the work. About two and a half months back, two JCBs were seized by Forest department personnel without notice during road work. As a result, he was forced to stop the road work.

Road construction work closed for two long months. Due to non-completion of road construction work, commuters are constantly facing problems. Accidents are taking after every two day.

As a result, locals joined the road blockade at Padmabil area of Agartala-Khowai road on Monday. The road blockade lasted for about four and a half hours on this day. As a result, many vehicles were stuck on both sides of the road. Passengers have to suffer extreme hardships.

On the other hand, after the road blockade continued for about four and a half hours, Khowai sub-divisional forest officer Nitish Chakraborty rushed to the scene. He talked to the road blockaders. He promised to solve the problem quickly. The road blockaders cleared the road block after receiving assurance from the Sub-Divisional Forest Officer.
