Agartala, May 27, 2023: Agartala Municipal Corporation’s Mayor Dipak Majumder on Saturday inaugurated a ‘Reduce, Recycle and Reuse Centre’ at an area adjacent to the Durga Chowmuhani’s Bipani Bitan here.
As part of a national programme under the SBM-Urban 2.0 of the Ministry of Urban and Housing Affairs, “Amar Jeevan Amar Swacch Sahar” project, old plastic products, books, shoes and clothes will be collected from the city dwellers and deposited in this RRR Centre here.
Mayor Majumder also waved flag for vehicles which will be collecting this old materials from the residents in 51 wards of the AMC.
He said that many people throw away their own shoes, clothes and other items when they are slightly damaged or torn. With the help of trained self-help groups, this work will be done and deposited in the Model RRR Centre, which has been opened for this purpose.
In this programme, Deputy Mayor Manika Das Datta, local corporator Snigdha Das Deb, additional commissioner of the corporation, assistant commissioner of central zone and other officials were present. This Model RRR Center is a special initiative of Agartala Municipal Corporation.
The Mayor has requested the citizens to cooperate in this work. The Mayor believes that all the programs will be successful with the sincere cooperation of the citizens.
