Dead body found floating in pond, family suspects foul play

Agartala, July 9, 2023: The deceased youth found in a pond near his residence has been identified as Tinku Das, aged 36, son of Babul Das from Jalilpur Daspara, located under Bamutia Police Station jurisdiction, which falls under Lefunga Police Station. The body was found on Sunday afternoon when local residents noticed it floating in the water. Acting swiftly, they retrieved the body and rushed it to GB Hospital.

Family members suspect foul play, believing that Tinku Das was subjected to physical assault before his body was disposed of in the pond. The deceased had reportedly been drinking with some local youths earlier in the day.

Following the incident, close relatives of Tinku Das promptly informed the police about the names of the suspected individuals involved in the incident. The body was later transferred to the trauma center of GB Hospital for a thorough examination, where medical professionals pronounced him dead on arrival.

Currently, the body of Tinku Das has been transferred to the morgue at GB Hospital for further investigation through a post-mortem examination. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the case.

The deceased youth is survived by his wife, five daughters, and one son, who are left grieving by this tragic incident. Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding Tinku Das’s untimely demise, and justice is sought for the grieving family during this difficult time.
