Agartala, July 24, 2023: In a shocking incident of theft, burglars broke into the Kali Mandir located inside the Santirbazar vegetable market and stole cash from the donation box. The incident came to light on Monday morning when market traders noticed the broken box and immediately reported the matter to the Santirbazar police station.
Members of the temple committee expressed their frustration with the police’s role, as their complaints about thefts have been overlooked for a long time. Despite reporting the incident to the police station, no action was taken, giving thieves ample opportunity to commit such crimes. The stolen cash from the donation box is estimated to be several thousand rupees.
The repeated incidents of theft have left the business community in Santirbazar concerned about the lack of security measures in the area. The police have now begun an investigation based on the complaints received and are determined to identify the culprits behind the burglary.
