Airport police arrested two with drugs in anti-narcotics operation

Agartala, September 14: The Airport police station conducted an anti-narcotics operation on Thursday, and arrested two people from Narayanpur area along with 32 grams of Yaba tablet and 50 vials of heroin. The police also seized an auto-rickshaw bearing registration number TR01J-3454 from the spot.

The operation was led by OC Airport police station Abhijit Mandal, who said that based on secret information, they raided the Narayanpur area and nabbed a drug dealer and a drug user who came to buy drug paraphernalia from Bodhjung Nagar. The drug dealer was identified as Amrit Nama alias Chandan and the drug user as Lokenath Das.

The police have registered a case against the accused under the NDPS Act and initiated an investigation. The police said that they are trying to find out the source of the drugs and the network of the drug peddlers in the city.
