BJP state leadership watches launching of PM Modi’s Vishwakarma scheme to benefit 18 professions

Agartala, September 17, 2023: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Vishwakarma Kaushal Samman Yojana, a scheme that aims to provide financial assistance and skill development to people associated with 18 professions, including workers, goldsmiths, and handicraftsmen. The scheme will benefit people from OBC and SC communities who are engaged in these traditional occupations.

The Prime Minister inaugurated the scheme through a virtual event on Sunday, which was also his birthday. He said that the scheme was a tribute to Lord Vishwakarma, the divine architect and craftsman, and a recognition of the contribution of the skilled workers to the nation’s development.

The scheme will provide a monthly stipend of Rs 2,000 to the beneficiaries for six months, along with training and certification in their respective fields. The scheme will also facilitate access to credit, market linkages, and social security for the beneficiaries.

The Prime Minister also interacted with some of the beneficiaries from different states and appreciated their work and creativity. He urged them to adopt modern technology and innovation to enhance their productivity and quality.

The virtual event was attended by BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharjee, Mayor Dipak Majumder, Corporator Alok Roy and others at the conference hall of Ward No. 39 in AD Nagar, Agartala. They wished and congratulated the Prime Minister on his birthday and praised his work for the welfare of the people of every section of the society. They expressed hope that India will achieve a prominent position in the world under his leadership.
