Mamata grieved at the passing away of distinguished film director Goutam Halder

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday expressed her grief at the passing away of distinguished film director and theatre personality Goutam Halder.

Taking to X, Banerjee said, ” Saddened by the demise of the distinguished film director and theatre personality Goutam Halder. “

His demise is a great loss to the world of culture, Banerjee added.

She conveyed her condolences to his family members and admirers.

Halder, whose debut directorial cinema “Bhalo Theko” in which Vidya Balan made her entry into the filmdom, died in a city hospital following a massive cardiac arrest on Friday.

His debut directorial film ” Bhalo Theko” in 2003 also received manyaccolades as well as the national prize in which Vidya Balan made herentry into theentertainment industry.

He also made Nirvan where Rakhi Guljar was the;lead actress in 2019 .
