Agartala, November 10: Students and parents of Nayapara English Medium School in Dharmanagar staged a demonstration on Friday morning against the transfer of their headmaster Nandalal Bhattacharya, who has been promoted to a different school. They said that the transfer would affect the quality of education and the performance of the students in the school.

The protest was triggered by a list of junior basic school headmasters who have been promoted and transferred to various schools across the state. The list was issued by the education department recently. Many of the headmasters on the list have accepted their new postings, but some of the schools are reluctant to let them go.

The students and parents of Nayapara English Medium School claimed that their headmaster Nandalal Bhattacharya has brought significant improvements to the school since his arrival. They said that he is a dedicated and efficient leader who has taken care of the academic and co-curricular activities of the students. They demanded that he should not be transferred at least till the annual examination, which is due in a few months.

They also appealed to the political leaders and the administrative officials to intervene in the matter and consider their demands. They said that they are ready to join a mass protest if their headmaster is forced to leave the school. They expressed their love and respect for him and said that he is like a father figure to them.
