The police also arrested the driver and the co-driver of the vehicle, who were allegedly smuggling the contraband from Teliamura to Shillong.

According to Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Manvendra Chowdhury, the police received a tip-off from a secret source that a large consignment of ganja would be transported by a car from Teliamura to Shillong in the early hours of Friday. Acting on the information, the police set up a check post at Ambassa Naka Point and intercepted the car bearing the registration number AS09AC6646.

Upon searching the vehicle, the police found 45 packets of dry ganja weighing 132 kg hidden under the seats and in the trunk.
