Agartala, 24th January 2024:   The 34th Tripura Industry and Commerce Fair is set to commence tomorrow at the Hapania International Fair Grounds.

During a press conference, Nabadal Banik, the chairman of Tripura Industrial Development Corporation, announced that this 12-day fair will run until February 11, 2024. Each day, the fair will operate from 2 pm to 9 pm, with the theme for this year being Technology and Innovation.

Banik mentioned that a total of 503 stalls will be featured in this year’s fair. “There will be 83 government stalls, 44 from outside the state, 130 from foreign countries, and 246 local stalls. Last year, the 33rd Tripura Industry and Trade Fair had a total of 380 stalls. Stalls will be set up from 17 states of the country, along with participation from Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Thailand,” he informed reporters.

The chairman emphasized that the primary objective of the industry and trade fair is to instill the idea of self-employment among the youth of the state. “The present government of the state is actively working in this direction. Therefore, like in previous years, this fair will incorporate innovative elements. This year, two pavilions named Technology and Policy Pavilion will be opened under the initiative of the Department. These pavilions will provide the youth of the state with an opportunity to participate in various discussions on self-employment. A six-day series of discussions on various issues related to industrial trade will also take place. Additionally, cultural events are scheduled every day. The fair will also feature an award ceremony for new entrepreneurs at the state and district levels,” he stated.
