CPIM stages protest in front of PHQ after party workers brutally attacked

Agartala: August 26. The opposition CPIM today staged a protest demonstration in front of Police Headquarters after a party leader was brutally attacked by an alleged BJP-backed miscreant in Amtali.

While speaking on the issue, CPIM West District secretary Ratan Das said today BJP backed miscreants has brutally attack Bipad Bandhu Rishidas who is CPIM West district committee member and also leader of Tripura Tapishili Samannay

“We are protesting on behalf of the CPIM West district committee as more than 40 BJP backed miscreants have brutally attacked our leader Bipad Bandhu Rishidas in front of Amtali police station. They attacked him black and blue. He received severe injuries on his head, hand and on leg and is now undergoing treatment at GB”, he said.Das further alleged that in the past few days, such attacks have increased on the opposition party workers and leaders.

“We have registered FIR mentioning name but not a single person arrested still now. In Jirania, South Joynagar attacks were carried out and today the attack was carried out on Bipad Bandhu Rishidas. Protesting this brutal attack and demanding to take strict action we staged a demonstration in front of the Police Headquarter. The rule of law murdered in the state soon after BJP formed government”, he said.He also lashed out at the Police for failing in fulfilling their duties and claimed that the BJP has handed over the state to the anti-social elements.
