Arunachal: Ninong Ering escapes road accident with minor injuries

Former Union Minister and present BJP MLA candidate from Pasighat West Assembly Constituency, Ninong Ering escaped a road accident with minor injuries on Saturday.

Ering met with the accident while he was out on an election campaign trail, police said.

The mishap occurred at Sile village in East Siang district along the National Highway-515 when the four-wheeler carrying the former parliamentarian

was coming out of BJP’s camp office at Sile and crashed into a vehicle belonging to his party.

“He (Ering) sustained minor injuries in the accident and there is no cause for worry,” East Siang SP Sachin Singhal said.

He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital and later discharged from the hospital after initial treatment, his family sources said.

The former MLA is contesting the April 19 Assembly polls on a BJP ticket. This will be Ering’s second consecutive term if he gets elected.

He had deserted the Congress and joined the Saffron party in February last, days before the announcement of the election schedule, giving a major setback to the grand old party.
