Agartala, September 06, 2022: In a pathetic incident, two persons sustained grievous injuries during a collision between two vehicles on the national highway at market area under Santirbazar sub-division on Tuesday. However, one passed away on way to GB Hospital for better treatment
It is reported that a collision took place between a cargo truck bearing registration number TR03B-1805 and a Maruti car bearing registration number TR01H-0405 on NH-08 at the market area under Santirbazar subdivision on Tuesday. In this accident, Shyamal Kar and his wife Sushmita Brakshan Kar were seriously injured travelling in the Maruti car. The two injured were residents of RMS Chaumuhani in Agartala.
Immediately after the accident, Santirbazar fire brigade personnel arrived at the spot and rescued the injured from the spot and took them to South Tripura District Hospital in Santirbazar for treatment. Seeing that the condition of the injured was critical, the doctors on duty at District Hospital shifted them to GB Hospital for advanced treatment.
It is learned that the Maruti car was coming from Agartala towards Santirbazar while the cargo truck was proceeding towards Agartala.
After the accident, Santirbazar police arrived at the scene. The police are investigating the incident. According to sources, Shyamal Kar, who was injured in the accident, died on the way to Agartala.
