Mysterious death of youth near school grounds at Teliamura

Agartala, 3rd August 2024:   In a tragic and mysterious incident, the dead body of a youth was found near the Teliamura Class XII School grounds in the Karilong area on Saturday morning. Morning walkers first noticed the body, prompting immediate concern and the arrival of the deceased’s relatives at the scene.

The deceased has been identified as Prashanta Das, who had been residing with his uncle’s family in Korailong. According to family sources, Prashanta’s father Sanju Das has been missing for several years. Prashanta was employed at a local meat shop, as confirmed by his uncle.

On the night before the incident, Prashanta had participated in the ‘Padma Poran’ ceremony at a nearby house and appeared to be in his usual spirits. After having dinner, he went to sleep at home. It is believed that the incident took place sometime during the night.

The Teliamura police were promptly informed and arrived at the scene to recover the body, which was found hanging. The body was then sent to the morgue at Teliamura Sub-Divisional Hospital for a post-mortem examination. The exact cause of death remains unknown, and authorities are awaiting the results of the police investigation to uncover the truth behind this tragic event.

The police have assured that the body will be handed over to the family members following the post-mortem. The community remains in shock as they await further details from the ongoing investigation.
