Agartala, 6th August 2024: The Border Security Force (BSF) and local police have been actively apprehending border touts and Bangladeshi nationals in the Tripura region.
Over the past 15 days, numerous Bangladeshi individuals have been detained, either through police operations or joint efforts with the BSF. Additionally, 7 to 8 touts have been booked under various cases related to the Human Trafficking Act and the Foreign Nationals Act.
At the Nishchintpur border, BSF Assistant Commandant Om Prakash has been instrumental in these operations, demonstrating dedication and cooperation. The Indian bordering villages have also been supportive in these efforts.
In recent months, no Bangladeshi detainee has reported entering India through the Amtali border during interrogations. This border is heavily fortified with a two-line defense system: the first line being the BSF and the second line comprising a combined force of the Tripura State Rifles (TSR) and pollution control units.
