Tripura to Host NEC Meeting from August 31, CM to Lead Review

Agartala, 19th August 2024:   Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha announced on Monday that the state will host the upcoming Northeast Council (NEC) meeting, set to take place from August 31 to September 1.

Addressing the media, Dr. Saha expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “It’s a moment of pride for Tripura as the NEC meeting will be held here. Previously, we traveled to Assam and Meghalaya to attend such meetings, but this time, our state will be the host.” The event is expected to attract significant attention, with six Chief Ministers, six Governors from the Northeastern states, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and DoNER Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia all in attendance.

Dr. Saha emphasized that the meeting will focus on addressing various issues related to Tripura, including border management and developmental projects. The state will also have an opportunity to showcase its innovative work during the discussions with representatives from other Northeastern states.

To ensure the event’s success, the Chief Minister will chair a review meeting to oversee the arrangements, given the large number of delegates expected to attend.
