Agartala, 25th August 2024: Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu visited the relief camp at Pratapgarh English Medium High School this morning, engaging with the individuals taking shelter and assessing the ongoing relief efforts.
Accompanied by Agartala Municipal Corporation Deputy Mayor Monika Dasdatta, Additional District Magistrate Prashant Badal Negi, Additional District Magistrate Sajal Biswas, and Sadar Divisional Magistrate Manik Lal Das, the Governor also toured a health camp organized by Satsanga Vihar on the school premises.
In a statement to reporters following the visit, Governor Nhighlighted the severe impact of the recent floods triggered by sudden heavy rains, which have caused significant suffering across the state.
He expressed confidence that with the cooperation of both the government and local administration, the state would overcome these challenges.
Governor Nallu emphasized the critical need for the distribution of essential medicines to prevent the outbreak of infectious and waterborne diseases in the flood-affected areas.
He assured that he remains in regular contact with Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha regarding the situation.
The Governor called for a swift assessment of the flood damage and urged the state government to expedite financial assistance to those affected, expressing hope for a prompt and effective response to the crisis.
