Three Bangladeshi nationals arrested for illegal entry by West Agartala Police

Agartala, 2nd September 2024:   Despite stringent border security, Bangladeshi nationals continue to enter the state illegally. In a recent incident, the West Agartala police station arrested three Bangladeshi citizens on charges of illegal entry.

According to Paritosh Das, the Officer-in-Charge of the West Agartala police station, the arrests began on August 29 when one Bangladeshi citizen was apprehended from Lankamura. The individual was presented in court with a request for police remand. During interrogation, information led to the detention of two more Bangladeshi nationals. Further questioning revealed the presence of three additional Bangladeshis in the RMS Chowmuhani area of Agartala, who were subsequently arrested.

All six individuals will be presented in court today with a request for police remand as the investigation continues.
