A speedy car collided with a Verka milk plant near Jalandhar-Amritsar National Highway, resulting in one fatality and two serious injuries early this morning.
Policemen were on their way to Amritsar from Jalandhar when they hit three passersby crossing the road near the Verka Milk Plant.
One of the passersby died on the spot, while two others received serious injuries. The injured have been admitted to the hospital, where the condition of both injured is stated to be critical.
The police have started investigations. The body of the dead has been sent to the civil hospital for postmortem.
