Agartala, 7th November 2024:  A lorry bearing registration number TR01N-1717 lost control while heading towards Bishalgarh and caused significant damage in the Puranbari area late last night. The lorry crashed into a passenger restroom, broke the boundary of the Puran Bari Netaji Sangh Club and collided with a badminton sports complex before coming to a stop.

The loud crash drew villagers to the scene, where they found the lorry driver, Montu Sarkar, who was reportedly intoxicated. Eyewitnesses believe that had the accident occurred during the day, it could have resulted in several fatalities.

Local authorities, including the police from Bishalgarh and Bishramganj police stations quickly arrived at the scene. Reports indicate that the lorry, originating from Udaipur in the Chechurimai area hit a car while attempting to flee. The driver was allegedly driving at high speed under the influence of alcohol.

The incident has left the entire area without electricity for over 24 hours due to the damage caused. Residents are experiencing severe water shortages and students are unable to study or charge their mobile phones. Local citizens are calling for prompt action from the administration to address the issue and prevent such incidents in the future.
