Agartala, 28th November 2024: Tripura Santiniketan Medical College (TSMC) has made significant strides in medical education with the admission of 150 students this year, who have already commenced their MBBS classes. The college has taken an innovative approach by conducting live classes on Facebook, benefiting not only the students but also their parents.
Dr. Malay Pit, President of TSMC, shared the college’s vision in a press communique on Thursday. “We are committed to developing TSMC into a premier institution for higher education by integrating cutting-edge technology in teaching and building the necessary infrastructure,” Dr. Pit stated.
In a major development, a digital university will soon be established in Tripura. This initiative aims to incorporate advanced topics such as telemedicine, tele ICU, teleradiology, telepathology, and virtual reality into the medical curriculum. “The introduction of these technologies will significantly enhance the quality of medical education and healthcare services in the state,” Dr. Pit emphasized.
The digital university will also focus on multi-skilling educated youth through modern technology, providing them with proper training to make them job-ready. “Our goal is to equip the youth with the skills needed to excel in the rapidly evolving job market,” Dr. Pit added.
Dr. Pit called for the cooperation of all Tripura residents to ensure the successful implementation of these initiatives. “The support of the people of Tripura is crucial for the success of this endeavor. I urge everyone to come forward and contribute to this transformative journey,” he appealed.
The establishment of TSMC and the upcoming digital university mark a significant milestone in Tripura’s educational landscape, promising a brighter future for aspiring medical professionals and the community at large.
