Agartala, 12th December 2024:   The house of Kamal Debnath, the BJP booth president for booth no. 29 of the 25-Khowai assembly constituency has been repeatedly attacked by his own party members, causing a significant stir in the area. Debnath, who has been nominated twice for the position, made these allegations while speaking to journalists today.

It is reported that Debnath said, “Last night, some youths suddenly started throwing bricks and stones at my house indiscriminately. When I came out, they left, but they returned later to repeat the attack.” He also recounted previous incidents, including the vandalism of a relative’s car parked in front of his house on the Panchami day of the last Durga Puja and large stones being thrown at his gate during Kali Puja.

Debnath further revealed that he received death threats from some youths on July 18. “Due to my good work in the area, some party youths cannot tolerate me. As a result, they are resorting to such actions,” he stated. He has appealed to the state Home Minister and Chief Minister through the media to address this issue. “If the party booth president is attacked in this way, how safe are the common people?” he questioned.

The repeated attacks on Debnath’s house have raised concerns about internal conflicts within the party and the safety of its members. The entire booth no. 29 area is abuzz with discussions about the incidents, highlighting the need for immediate intervention and resolution.
