Mamata and Suvendu condole demise of tabla maestro Zakir Hussain

West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee and opposition leader Suvendu Adhikari have expressed deep shock at the sudden demise of Tabla maestro Zakir Hussain at a USA hospital on Sunday.

Zakir Hussain had been admitted to the ICU of a hospital in San

Francisco after heart-related problems.

” Deeply shocked and saddened by the untimely death of Ustad Zakir

Hussain, the renowned maestro and one of the greatest tabla players of

all times,” Banerjee in her condolence message said.

” This is a huge loss for the country and his millions of admirers

across the planet.,” she continued.

She conveyed her sincere condolences to the family, fraternity and

followers of the great artist.

In a separate condolence message, leader of the opposition Suvendu

Adhikari expressed his sadness and said India has lost a part of her

cultural treasure.

” Saddened by the untimely demise of the legendary Tabla Maestro Zakir

Hussain Sahab. His mesmerizing & breathtaking performances will

forever be etched in our hearts and memories,” Nandigram legislator

said.

” Heartfelt condolences to his family members and admirers world over.

Rest in Peace,” Adhikari said.
