Agartala, 11th January 2025:   As part of the social program, a dedicated campaign for a drug-free Tripura was conducted at Bagma Bazar, Udaipur. This initiative was organized to coincide with the 41st Foundation Day of Vivekananda Vidyapeeth Higher Secondary School (English Medium), Udaipur and National Youth Day. The school authorities planned a series of programs, including an anti-drug street play, to spread awareness about the dangers of drug abuse.

On the evening of January 10, the students of Udaipur Vivekananda Vidyapeeth performed an impactful anti-drug street play at Bagma Bazar under the guidance of their teachers. The play was part of the state government’s ongoing drive to create a drug-free Tripura, and it attracted a large crowd of spectators.

Following the street play, a small awareness discussion meeting was held in collaboration with the Bagma Bazar Committee. Bagma Bazar Committee President Shankar Saha, acting headmaster of Vivekananda Vidyapeeth Shyamsundar Dutta, internal administrator Deepal Saha, and senior teacher Sanjib Bhattacharya, among others, participated in the discussion.

During the program, Vidyapeeth teacher Anupam Chowdhury performed music that complemented the themes of the campaign. Other notable attendees included Bagma Bazar Committee Secretary Monilal Pal and former head of Barbhaiya Panchayat Biswajit Majumdar.

“The initiative taken by the students and teachers of Udaipur Vivekananda Vidyapeeth is commendable,” said Bagma Bazar Committee President Shankar Saha. “Such programs are essential to raise awareness about the detrimental effects of drug abuse among the youth and the community at large.”

On behalf of Vivekananda Vidyapeeth, it was announced that the ‘Nesha Mukta Tripura Abhiyan’ (Drug-Free Tripura Campaign) would continue in the coming days, with more such events planned to reinforce the message of anti-drug awareness.
