Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha praises unique 2025-26 union budget

Agartala, 1st February 2025 :   Chief Minister Prof Dr. Manik Saha has hailed the 2025-26 Union Budget as a unique and comprehensive guide to development for the youth, women, and the poor.

Speaking to journalists today, Dr. Saha expressed his appreciation for the welfare-oriented budget presented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

Dr. Saha highlighted the budget’s focus on various sectors, particularly the farmers’ sector, and emphasized that development has been prioritized across all areas. “This budget has mentioned many things in the farmers’ sector. In all areas, development has been kept in mind,” he said. He extended his gratitude to Prime Minister Modi and Finance Minister Sitharaman for their efforts in presenting a budget that aims to uplift all sections of society.

The Chief Minister pointed out several key initiatives in the budget, including the increased loan facility on micro credit cards for the development of small and medium industries, the target of boosting small-scale exports, and the announcement of a new fertilizer factory in Assam along with three additional centers in the eastern region. “These are significant steps in the development of this industrial sector,” Dr. Saha noted.

He also highlighted the additional economic opportunities provided by the startup fund, which will enhance prospects for young entrepreneurs. “Additional economic opportunities in the startup fund will increase the opportunities for young entrepreneurs,” he added.

Dr. Saha’s remarks highlight the state government’s commitment to leveraging the Union Budget to drive inclusive growth and development across Tripura and the nation.
