Agartala, 2nd February 2025: In yet another shocking incident, the echoes of the Bishalgarh double murder are still fresh as another brutal killing has sent shockwaves across the Kamariakhla area under the jurisdiction of Birganj police station in Amarpur.
Yesterday night, around 8:30 PM, a woman allegedly killed her husband with a sharp knife in a fit of rage after he confronted her about an illicit relationship. The gruesome crime unfolded in their residence, leaving neighbors in a state of panic and disbelief.
According to preliminary reports, the accused wife managed to flee from the crime scene immediately after the murder. Law enforcement agencies, led by Amarpur SDPO Debanjali Roy, have launched an extensive combing operation in the area to track down and apprehend the fugitive.
Despite ongoing efforts, police officials from Birganj police station have yet to secure the arrest of the accused woman at the time of filing this report. Authorities are urging residents to report any suspicious movements and assist in the investigation.
