Rajya Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb leaves assembly giving emotional speech; seeks cooperation from all

Agartala, September 26, 2022: Former Chief Minister and incumbent Rajya Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb on Monday gave an emotional speech at the last day of the state assembly before tendering his resignation from the post of legislator. He also expressed his amity with Congress MLA and former cabinet minister friend Sudip Roy Barman and leader of opposition Manik Sarkar before leaving the floor of the house.

He said “When I was holding the post of the Chief Minister, I received everyone’s support in running the government in Tripura. I express my gratitude to the leader of opposition who blessed me and advised me on certain issues at the beginning of Chief Minister job’s journey. Now, Tripura’s development subject will be raised in the Rajya Sabha and seeking everyone’s cooperation.”

The former Chief Minister and the newly elected MP of Rajya Sabha Biplab Kumar Deb recounted his experience of working as a member of the Legislative Assembly participating in the first half session of the Tripura Legislative Assembly on Monday and thanked all for their cooperation during this course of time.

Expressing hope, Deb said that he will raise the issue of Tripura’s development in the Rajya Sabha do whatever can be done for the development of Tripura. He has given such an assurance to all, thanked everyone and left the assembly.
