Farmers’ welfare a priority of present govt: Ratan

Agartala, 2nd April 2025:   Ensuring that farmers receive the right price for their produce should be a priority for everyone, stated Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath while inaugurating a newly built seed processing center in Uttar Laxmilunga of Bamutia Block today.

Speaking at the event, Minister Nath emphasized that agriculture forms the foundation of the country’s economy.

He stressed that the government is working sincerely towards making the state self-reliant in agriculture, and as such, no cultivable land should remain idle.

Minister Nath highlighted that by using high-quality seeds, modern agricultural machinery, and regular soil testing, farmers can grow more crops even in limited land.

The minister reiterated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to the development of farmers, particularly through the promotion of drone technology for the care and maintenance of agricultural fields.

He further mentioned that Tripura is self-sufficient in the production of various types of seeds and ranks second in the North Eastern region in seed production, following Assam.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including West Tripura Zilla Parishad Acting Sabhadhipati Bishwajit Shil, Bamutia Panchayat Samiti Chairman Dipak Kumar Sinha, Vice Chairman Tuton Das, former MLA Krishnadhan Das, social worker Shibendra Das, and Director of the Agriculture Department Phani Bhushan Jamatia and others were present.
