Agartala, 17th November 2025: Representatives of the 10,323 terminated teachers and educators have accused certain officials of the Education Department of deliberately obstructing Chief Minister’s initiative to resolve their long-standing crisis. The allegation was made during a press conference held at the Agartala Press Club today.

Speaking on behalf of the legal team, Narayan Sutradhar stated that despite repeated assurances from the Chief Minister, ministers, and legislators, a section of officials has been presenting misleading information before the court, thereby hindering a permanent solution.

“We are victims of blatant injustice. From ordinary citizens to illiterate villagers, everyone condemns the wrong done to us. Yet we have not given up the fight and urge all terminated teachers not to lose hope,” the representatives said.

They further argued that although court verdicts have not favored them on several occasions, it does not mean the teachers have accepted the injustice. Rather, they believe the failure lies in properly conveying the matter to the judiciary.

The press conference alleged that while the Chief Minister is exploring alternative solutions, the Education Department has been submitting false information in court to deliberately mislead the process. The representatives claimed they have already submitted evidence of departmental malpractice to the Supreme Court and will soon present additional documents.

Until now, the Education Department had been representing the teachers in court. However, the representatives accused the department of taking an entirely opposite stance. They expressed confidence that the new evidence will ensure a favorable verdict this time.

The conference also announced that a five-member delegation has sought an appointment with the Chief Minister. According to the representatives, people across all sections of society including political parties, ruling and opposition alike acknowledge that injustice has been done to the 10,323 teachers. They expressed hope that the higher judiciary will now take appropriate action.
