All Tripura MGNREGA Employees Welfare Association gives depuation to Gomati DM

Agartala, 10th June 2026:   . All Tripura MGNREGA Employees Welfare Association gave a deputation to the DM of Gomati district on Wednesday, presenting a five point charter of demands that includes equal pay for equal work, job regularization, pay hikes and retirement benefits.

The employees stated that since 2007 they have played a crucial role in rural development activities, including road construction and drinking-water connectivity. Despite working for many years, they have not been granted regular employee status. They also said it has become extremely difficult to run their households on their current salaries.

In the deputation, the workers demanded that all MGNREGA staff under the Tripura state government such as Village Book Keepers and Rojgar Sahayaks/Resource Assistant Monitoring Group members, be regularized effective from their respective dates of joining. They also asked that projects run by the MGNREGA and Panchayat departments be integrated into a unified framework for salary increments.

Additionally, they demanded that the annual basic salary increment be raised from 3% to 5% that the minimum retirement age and pension eligibility be fixed at 65 years, and that Dearness Allowance (DA) be provided at par with regular government employees.

Gomati District President of the All Tripura MGNREGA Employees Welfare Association, Biplab Deb and state Committee member Benu Deb along with other association members were present.
