Agartala, 28th April 2025: In a solemn tribute to the martyrs of the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, the BJP Sonamura Mandal organized a silent procession in the city yesterday evening. Party workers, supporters, and local residents gathered at the Sonamura Mandal office, holding candles as they marched through the streets. The procession concluded at the Netaji statue near Sonamura Nagar Panchayat, where participants observed a minute of silence to honor the fallen.
Speaking after the event, BJP Sepahijala District (South) President Uttam Das expressed confidence in the central government’s response to the attack. “We trust our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, to deliver a fitting reply to this act of terrorism,” he stated.
Shubhrajit Das, President of BJP Sonamura Mandal, emphasized the importance of unity in challenging times. “Regardless of party or opinion, we must stand together as one nation to resist foreign powers. Unity is the tradition of India,” he remarked. Das also assured that the central government would take appropriate measures to honor the sacrifices of the martyrs. “Not only do Indians have faith in our Prime Minister, but leaders worldwide trust him to combat terrorism effectively,” he added, urging the community to remain united and steadfast.
The procession saw participation from notable figures, including Sonamura Nagar Panchayat Chairman Sarada Chakraborty, former minister and BJP Minority Morcha Pradesh President Billal Mia, alongside BJP workers and supporters.
