Agartala, 30th April 2026: A fresh wave of concern has gripped Kadamtala Market after a daring burglary at Joy Jewellery in the gold section late last night. Despite the presence of security guards, thieves managed to execute a meticulously planned theft, raising serious questions about the effectiveness of existing safety measures.
This morning around 9:30 AM, a shop employee opened the store to find the interior in disarray. Initially, the intact front door and grill gave no indication of forced entry. However, upon closer inspection, it was discovered that the culprits had cut through the tin roof and plywood at the back to gain access.
Preliminary estimates suggest that the burglars stole gold and silver ornaments worth between Rs 1.5 to Rs 2 lakh. The shop owner, Swapan Kumar Dey, rushed to the scene after being informed, and neighboring traders quickly gathered as news spread.
Kadamtala Police were notified immediately and arrived at the location to begin their investigation. A formal case has been registered, and authorities are working to identify those involved in the crime.
The incident has sparked widespread fear among traders in Kadamtala Market. Already troubled by persistent electricity issues, shopkeepers now face mounting concerns over repeated thefts and inadequate security. All eyes are now on the police investigation, with traders anxiously awaiting answers as to how swiftly this audacious crime will be solved.
