Agartala, 30th December 2024: A businessman was assaulted by a person impersonating an SPO jawan near the West Agartala Police Station at the Post Office Chowmuhani area. Despite the incident took place in close proximity to the police station, no action has been taken by the authorities yet, raising serious concerns over public safety.
According to reports, the assailant introduced himself as an SPO jawan and attacked a fast food shop owner. The incident took place right in front of the West Agartala Police Station, yet the police did not intervene.
Post Office Chowmuhani is a bustling area with several fast food shops and two police stations nearby. However, residents and local business owners feel unsafe due to frequent attacks by miscreants. “We can no longer rely on the police for our safety,” said a shop owner.
The fast food shop owner said, “The person claiming to be an SPO jawan attacked me when I demanded repayment of outstanding money.”
This incident has further eroded the trust in the police among the local community, who are calling for immediate action and assurance from the authorities. “We demand strict action against the attacker and better security measures in the area,” urged a local resident.
