Agartala, 10th February 2025:   The Nagarpara is mourning the loss of Shipon Sarkar, a 48-year-old man who was found dead on the roadside in Brajendranagar. Sarkar, known for his chronic alcohol addiction was a familiar figure in the area, often seen wandering the streets from Madhupur to Nagarpara and sometimes to Fultali, with alcohol as his constant companion.

Despite his family’s efforts to curb his drinking by arranging his marriage, Sarkar’s addiction prevailed, leading to the dissolution of his marriage. His daily routine involved roaming the streets alone from morning till night, often in a state of inebriation.

This afternoon, while making his way from Nagarpara to Phultali, Sarkar collapsed on the side of the road in the Bajendranagar area. His prolonged immobility raised suspicion among the locals, who eventually discovered his lifeless body.

The Amtali police station was promptly informed, and officers, along with Sarkar’s family members, rushed to the scene. Preliminary reports indicate that Sarkar’s body had weakened significantly due to his excessive alcohol consumption, ultimately leading to his demise by the roadside.
