Agartala, 28th August 2025:    The civil hospital being constructed under the initiative of Agartala Municipal Corporation is expected to start functioning by the end of this year. Mayor Dipak Majumdar announced this today after visiting the construction site adjacent to Jackson Gate.

The foundation stone of the hospital was recently laid by Chief Minister Professor Dr. Manik Saha. Reviewing the ongoing work today, the Mayor said that construction is progressing steadily and efforts are being made to ensure the hospital becomes operational within this year.

“The hospital will provide modern health services to residents, including businessmen and local people in the city area. This will reduce the burden on GB Pant Hospital and IGM Hospital,” Mayor Majumdar stated.

During the inspection, Municipal Commissioner Dilip Kumar Chakma, officials of the Urban Development and Health Departments, and representatives of the construction company accompanied the Mayor.
