Agartala, 13th June 2025 : In a bid to reinforce border security and curb illegal infiltration, Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha chaired a high-level administrative meeting on Friday to assess and strengthen surveillance along the Indo-Bangladesh border.
According to sources from the Chief Minister’s Office, Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha led the session, which was convened to review the current security situation and coordinate efforts among various agencies. The meeting was attended by Director General of Police Anurag, Home Secretary Abhishek Singh, the Inspector General of the Border Security Force (BSF), and senior officials from central intelligence and security agencies.
Officials present at the meeting revealed that while infiltration attempts—particularly involving Rohingya refugees—continue to pose a concern, recent data from intelligence and BSF sources indicate a decline in such activities over the past three months.
The discussion also emphasized the need for tighter coordination between the BSF, state police, and central agencies to ensure uninterrupted surveillance and prompt response to any breach along the international border. Special focus was laid on intelligence-sharing and real-time communication among enforcement units.
The State Government reiterated its commitment to maintaining law and order in border-adjacent areas. It was noted that the BSF, in coordination with state police, has been consistently apprehending and initiating the repatriation process for illegal infiltrators.
Chief Minister Dr. Saha reaffirmed that safeguarding Tripura’s borders remains a top priority for the government and assured that all necessary steps are being taken to ensure the safety and security of the people.
