Agartala, 7th April 2025: Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha today chaired the first meeting High-Level Task Force on Investment Promotion with Union Minister of DoNER Jyotiraditya Scindia and three other North East Chief Ministers.
The meeting was chaired virtually by Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha, who has been appointed the Convener of the Task Force.
The Task Force, a key initiative by the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), was formally constituted on March 15 following a decision taken during the 72nd NEC Plenary session held in Agartala in December 2024. The objective is to frame a comprehensive strategy for boosting investment across the North Eastern Region.
The core team of the Task Force includes Union Minister of DoNER Jyotiraditya Scindia, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, and Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang.
Taking to social media after the meeting, Dr. Saha shared, “As the Convener of the High-Level Task Force on Investment Promotion in the North Eastern Region constituted by the NEC, I chaired its first meeting virtually today… A detailed discussion was held, and we resolved to prepare a strategic roadmap to make the North Eastern Region a preferred investment destination for both domestic and international investors.”
The meeting marks a renewed commitment by the states and the Centre to work collaboratively in attracting investment, improving infrastructure, and creating job opportunities in one of India’s most culturally rich and ecologically sensitive regions.
