Agartala, August 22, 2022: Pradesh BJP leader and ICA minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Monday squarely castigated the role of Congress party for keeping a friendship with the CPIM and paving path for the Communists to return in power.

Speaking to reporters here at BJP state headquarters this afternoon, Chowdhury said “The Congress party leaders never went to Delhi during the previous Leftist regime for 25 years and demanded for ‘President’s Rule’ despite large number of Congress workers were kidnapped and murdered.”

“The ‘President’s Rule’ is nothing new for Congress party. Through the ‘President’s Rule’, the Congress party helped the CPIM-led Left Front to return in power in 1993. During that period, Narasimha Rao was the Prime Minister. In the similar way, the Congress party leaders are thinking of adopting the same technique in Tripura at present and help the Communists to form government through ‘President’s Rule’ which is beyond impossible as because, now the Prime Minister is Narendra Modi”, he added.

Chowdhury said “Allegations are made in the same tune whenever Congress or CPIM hold press conferences. Congress and CPIM supports each other. The present central government is not run by the then Prime Minister Narasimha Rao, still Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman went to Delhi and held press conference after becoming frustrated with the 4.5 year old government”.

ICA minister said that the people have understood the ill-motive of Congress MLA, who is making all possible attempts to create a chaotic situation across the state and maligning the image of Tripura.
