Congress holds mammoth bike-rally; hints positive talks on alliance with TIPRA Motha

Agartala Jan 18: Tripura Pradesh Congress on Wednesday organized a grand bike-rally with huge number of supporters and activists that traversed various routes of the capital city after starting from Astabal grounds.

Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman, ex-TPCC president Gopal Chandra Roy, AICC Secretary Szarita Laitphlang, Tripura Congress in-charge Dr Ajoy Kumar, former MLA Asish Kumar Saha among others led the bike rally while calling out for ‘BJP-Mukt Tripura’.

Speaking to the reporters, lone Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman said, “Democracy-loving people of Tripura will oust the present dispensation in the upcoming elections for failing on all fronts”.

“People, especially Youths have come together to save democracy in Tripura and are preparing themselves to engineer a silent revolution in the state for defeating the BJP who had oppressed them for the past 59 months. It’s time for BJP to leave Tripura. This time the democracy-loving people will oust the present government, for failing on all fronts, and it will set the tone for the 2024 Lok Sabha election”.

Talking on alliance with TIPRA Motha, Barman said, “The elections will be declared within 2.30 in the afternoon and also people will be made clear of alliance stands”.

He however hinted positive tone on alliance with TIPRA Motha. Pointing out that the party believes in program-based politics, AICC Secretary Szarita Laitphlang said, “Demands and appeals can be registered without using ‘danda’, and Congress’ movements are a symbol to this”.

“I urge the BJP bike-bahini to join Congress and help in forming a better government and better Tripura”, she added.

TPCC in-charge Dr Ajoy Kumar while talking to the reporters urged all the like-minded political parties to join Congress in an united fight against the BJP.
