Court convicts accused in illegal immigration case in Tripura

Agartala, 28th May 2026:  Tripura police have achieved a significant legal victory in Dhalaí district, where the Kamalpur police station successfully prosecuted an accused under the Immigration & Foreigners Act, 2025 and the Foreigners Act, 1946.

According to case number 084/2025, the Kamalpur First Class Judicial Magistrate Court found the accused guilty after reviewing all evidence and witness testimonies. The court sentenced the individual to 140 days of rigorous imprisonment along with a fine of ₹2,000.

The investigation was led by ASI Motilal Malakar, whose dedication and meticulous work ensured the conviction. His efforts have been widely praised by the Tripura Police and the Chief Minister’s Office, which extended formal congratulations for this achievement.

Authorities emphasized that this ruling reinforces the principle that “law will take its own course and no offender can escape justice.” The case highlights the commitment of Dhalaí police to safeguarding society against unlawful activities.

This landmark judgment is being hailed as a reminder of the police force’s role in maintaining security and upholding justice.
