Agartala, November 17: The impact of Cyclone “Midhili” in the Northwest Bay of Bengal has led to significant disruptions in air services in Tripura on Friday. A total of 5 flights were canceled, and 4 flights attempting to land in Agartala airspace were forced to turn around.

Upon receiving news of the flight cancellations, Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury took immediate action, instructing senior officials of the Transport Department to go to the airport and facilitate arrangements for the affected passengers.

Responding promptly to the minister’s directive, large buses were dispatched to the airport to transport waiting passengers affected by the flight cancellations. Transport department officials were stationed at the airport, actively addressing the concerns and resolving problems faced by stranded passengers.

The cyclone’s adverse weather conditions have posed challenges to air travel, prompting quick and effective measures from the Transport Ministry to ensure the welfare and comfort of affected individuals. The efforts to assist stranded passengers demonstrate the government’s commitment to managing the disruptions caused by Cyclone “Midhili” and ensuring the safety and well-being of the public during this challenging weather event.
