Agartala, 23rd May 2024 : A dead body of Pappu Das, a 45-year-old electricity worker, was discovered floating in the pond of the Fisheries Department on Dharmanagar Central Road around noon on Thursday. The tragic discovery has sent shockwaves through the local community.
Local residents first spotted the body and promptly alerted the fire brigade. However, upon arrival, the firemen did not initially attempt to retrieve the body from the water. It was only after the police from Dharmanagar police station arrived that the body was recovered and transported to Dharmanagar Hospital morgue for a post-mortem examination.
Pappu Das, a resident of Shibbari, was last seen by his family on Wednesday night when he went to sleep after returning home. Concern arose when he was untraceable by morning, culminating in the distressing discovery of his body by midday.
The incident has caused significant concern and speculation among locals, eager to understand the circumstances leading to Pappu Das’s untimely death. Authorities are conducting an investigation, and the post-mortem results are awaited to determine the cause of death.
