Date:

Agartala, 27th July 2026 :   A district-level competition under the initiative of My Bharat, organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, was held in Dhalai district on Monday. The program, themed “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat”, aimed to spread awareness about building a drug-free society and guiding youth towards a healthier future through cultural activities.

The event took place at the Panchayat Raj Training Institute in Ambassa, witnessing enthusiastic participation from schools and youth groups across the district. To nurture young talent and highlight the dangers of substance abuse, contests were held in eight categories—music, dance, short films, drama, poetry recitation, debate, slogan writing, and painting.

At the outset, all participants took the “Nasha Mukt Pledge” to commit themselves to a drug-free society. E-certificates were also distributed to encourage the youth.

Highlighting the purpose of the initiative, Dhalai District Youth Officer Chandra Mohan stated that the program seeks to protect young people from the grip of addiction and inspire them through cultural engagement. Eight winners from the district will represent Dhalai at the state-level competition, with further opportunities to compete nationally.

The event was attended by dignitaries including Youth Officer Chandra Mohan, teachers from various schools, National Youth Awardee social worker Samrat Basak, and volunteer Sushanta Das. The program generated remarkable enthusiasm among students and youth, reflecting strong community support for the cause.
